If you have already been affected by an EFT remittance paid to phishing email scam, there are ways you can protect yourself from further damage. Make sure you keep all of your software up-to-date with the latest security patches and anti-virus programs so that any future attacks will be prevented or detected quickly if they do occur. Additionally, regularly change passwords for all online accounts including banking websites and make sure they are strong enough that they cannot easily be cracked by attackers.
